Strawbale Building 2008
Eileen has wanted to build a strawbale house for many years now, inspired by the work of
Amazonails and other sustainable builders. It took me longer to catch the bug but last
summer we went on a weekend workshop in the UK and I became hooked.
We've had various false starts, plans, ideas and panics about the whole thing until by the
turn of the year we decided to start by building a small house/eco-centre. We also
decided to invite Barbara Jones from Amazonails to lead a course here in July, focusing on
wall building.
The following links show the progress (and sometimes lack of progress!) on a month by
month basis.
