Hotnitsa Press is an online publishing venture
for Bulgarian writers anywhere in the world and for
writers of any nationality currently living in Bulgaria.
The aim is to raise the international profile of writing
in Bulgaria, thereby helping writers to reach new
audiences. Bulgarian writers, as well as those of any
work in English under any of these categories:
Poetry
Poems should, ideally, be no longer than 40 lines and can be about any subject. They
should be submitted as either Word or RTF files.
Stories should be no longer than 2,500 words. They should be submitted as either Word or
RTF files. The editors reserve the right to edit stories prior to their publication, having first
sought permission from the author.
Non-fiction
These submissions should be academic in nature and focus on an aspect of Bulgarian
culture, either current or historical. They should be no longer than 2,500 words and be
submitted as Word or RTF files. The editors reserve the right to edit submissions prior to
their publication, having first sought permission from the author. All references should be
identifed and correctly attributed by the author, prior to submission.
All work should be submitted as an attachment by e-mail to contact@hotnitsa.com. We
cannot offer payment but copyright remains with the author. The work is guaranteed to
remain on this website for a minimum of one month and will not be published in any other
format by the owners of this site. If we receive enquiries about the work from other websites
or publishers then we will immediately forward the enquiry to the author concerned. Any
plagiarised work is solely and entirely the responsibility of the author concerned. The
editors' decision is final and we will not enter into correspondence regarding decisions.
